Today my MacBook Pro didn't started at all. I went to the only Apple shop in Tucson to repair it. But I got the imformation that the six years old 17" MacBook can't be repared anymore. Thereofre I had to buy a new 15" Macbook Pro. The next few days I need to migrate the data to the new computer.

Today we traveled from Springerville to Mollogon Ghost Town and Mine and then to Safford (306 km). Since I wanted to see a ghost town we drove to Mollogon. But it's not really a ghost town anymore. People bought the old ruins and renovated them and live there now. The ghosts are gone! The picture shows one of about three buildings which are not renovated yet.

Today we visited the City of Rocks State Park and the Santa Rita Copper Mine Overlook (126 km). The overlook at the active open pit copper mine was closed. Never the less we could see how big such a mine can be. The picture shows a part of the City of Rocks. There is quite a big field of such volcanic rocks at this place.

Today we traveled from Alamogordo to Silver City (295 km). The storm of Friday is over and the weather is nice and warm at the places we want to go. Even it is now a bit cooler as in the previous days. But I still wear shorts and t-shirts. We traveled to Silver City because in the region are some points to visit. The picture shows the landscape at Whitewater about 50 km before Silver City.

Today we traveled from Sonora to Odessa (266 km). First, we visited the caverns of Sonora. It was a 1.5 hour and 3 miles long tour through the caverns. There were very nice calcite crystal formations as my picture shows. Since the weather is still better in the west we drove to Odessa. The landscape was flat and we passed many oil fields.

Today we traveled from San Antonio to Sonora (338 km). The weather is better in the west. Therefore we traveled westwards. But before we left San Antonio we went to visit the Mission Espada. Someone told me that there are five missions around San Antonio. Mission Espada should be the most beautiful one. My picture shows the church of Mission Espada.

Today we traveled from Laredo to San Antonio (271 km). We were in Laredo because we wanted to drive to the Gulf of Mexico. But this morning the weather forecast predicted bad weather for the next week at the Gulf. Therefore we changed our plans and drove to San Antonio. But first, we drove into the old part of Laredo to see the San Agustin Plaza. I was here many years ago and wanted to see it again. For me, it's a typical Mexican place as my picture shows.

Today we traveled from Del Rio to Laredo (301 km). In the morning, the weather was foggy, very humid and 24 °C. Therefor we decided not to visit the lake but travel further. Later the sun came back and the temperature rose to 30 °C. We traveled along the border to Mexico but never saw the Rio Grande. But we saw a lot of border controls. The landscape was different than during the last weeks. Here it was very flat and everything was green. There were a lot of bushes and even trees. We saw pecan nuts orchards. The picture shows a bit how the landscape looked like today.

Today we traveled from Terlingua across the Big Bend National Park to the Boquillas Canyon and from here to the Rio Grande Village (83 km) where we stayed for the night. We did two hikes one into the Boquillas Canyon and one at the Rio Grande Village. The picture shows the Rio Grande flowing into the Boquliias Canyon. This time Mexico is on the right side and the USA is on the left. Again we were only about 10 meters away from Mexico.

Today we traveled through the Big Bend Ranch State Park until Presidio (108 km) and back. The very windy road led us along the Rio Grande which is the border between the USA and Mexico. It was interesting to see how close these two countries in this region are. We never saw any border control. The picture shows one such landscape.

Today was our laundry and office day. For this, we stayed at the campground in Terlingua. The picture is from yesterdays journey into the Big Bend National Park. It shows the Rio Grande which is the border between the USA and Mexico. There where the cows are is Mexico. The cut in the rock formation in the background is the Santa Elena Canyon, from where I showed a picture yesterday.
