Today we visited the d-day beaches Omaha and Gold. The picture shows the west end of the Gold Beach the village of Arromanches-les-Bains. Out in the sea are still some remains of the landings to see.

Today we traveled from Amiens to Bayeux (300 km). On the way we visited Le Havre. This city was destroyed in WWII. But different then other cities it didn't reconstruct the city as it was before. Le Havre build a new city. The architect Auguste Perret was the mastermind behind the new construction. My picture shows the town hall of Le Havre, which is build in the same style as the whole new city, which is called the old city.

Today we traveled from Paris to Amiens (140 km). Near Amiens we visited some more WWI memorial sites and cemeteries. The picture shows the Anglo-French memorial and gravesite at Thiepval.

Today we traveled from Épernay to Paris (190 km). The picture shows some vineyards near Épernay.

Today we traveled from Reims to Épernay (only 25 km). And we visited these two cities. They are the world center of Champagne production. And yes we had a glass of it! The picture shows the Avenue de Champagne in Épernay.

Today we traveled from Vilsberg to Reims. On the way we visited Verdun, where there is a battlefield from WWI. This battle was in 1916, just 100 years ago. There are is a National Gravesite for thousands of soldiers. This remined me that I was lucky to live my entire life in peace. I hope this will stay like this!

Yesterday we started our trip to France, Spain and Portugal. First we traveled to Basel to visit our son Patrick. Today we traveled to Vilsberg in France. On the way we visited Colmar in France. The picture shows a nice scene from this city.

Last night we camped at the Stubenweiher (living room pond) near Ulm in Germany. Then we drove home to Egnach in Swiotzerland.

Today we traveled from Bad Königshofen to Tüchersfeld. On the way we visited Coburg, Bayreuth and Tücherfeld. The picture shows the Opera Festival Hall of Richard Wagner.

September 8. - 11., 2016

On September 8 we traveled from Egnach in Switzerland to Bad Königsfelden in Germany (430 km). On September 9., 10. and 11 we attended the presentations of the company Seabridge. They explained us how to ship our RV to Canada. And we heard about a lot of RV tours all over the world. This gave us a lot of ideas, what we can do later on. The picture shows an alley in Bad Königshofen.

Today Ogino and me visited Vevey (Charlie Chaplin, Nestle), Lausanne (Book shop, Cathedral) and Geneva (Jet d'eau). Then I brought Ogino to the airport in Geneva and we both were heading home. He flew and I drove the RV. The image shows an work of art in front of the Food Museum in Vevey, Switzerland.

Today Ogino and me travelled from Saillon to almost Lausanne in Switzerland. On the way we visited the Roman Amphitheater in Martigny, The church of the monastry and the Cave of the Good Fairy in St. Maurice, the Salt Mine in Bex, the Castle of Chilion and Montreux. The picture shows the statue of Freddie Mercury in Montreux, where he lived and recorded.

Today Ogino and me traveled from Reckingen to Saillon in the valley of Vallais (100km). On the way we saw different nice and interesting places. The picture shows the village of Ritzingen.
