Today we first searched for a car repair shop to do the service at our motorhome. It was much easier as we thought. The second company was willing to do it and wanted it to do it right away. Therefore we let them our motorhome and went to downtown with the bus. There we visited the Alamo and the Riverwalk. Later we went to pick up our motorhome. Everything was made and no further problems occurred. Only the brake problem is not solved. But the mechanic told me that the brakes itself work fine. The picture shows the Alamo. Here a very important battle between Texas and Mexico took place in 1836.

Today we traveled from Fort Stockton to Junction (314 km). When we started in Fort Stockton a heavy wind blew. Therefore some dust from the desert was in the air. The further we drove the better the weather became. In Junction, it was nice and warm (25 ˚C) and without wind. We had a nice evening with a colorful sunset at the South Llano River.

Today we traveled from Van Horn to Fort Stockton (201 km). Yesterday the dashboard showed a sign which says that there is a problem with the brakes. Today we visited a car repair shop. The result of the inspection was, that a sensor control box must have a problem and the brakes are fine. Like this, we can drive until we find someone to change the sensor control box. The picture was made some mile before Fort Stockton on Highway 10. The highway goes straight until the horizon.

Today we traveled from Tombstone in Arizona to Deming in New Mexico (338 km). On the way, we visited Tombstone again and the Queen Mine in Bisbee. The picture shows the re-enactment of the gunfight with Wyatt Erp and his brothers Virgil and Morgan and Doc Holliday against the Cowboys in front of the O.K. Corral which made this place world famous. The real gunfight happened behind the building.

Today we went to see an RV service company in the east of Tucson. On the way back we came by the Airplane Boneyard. Here are about 4000 airplanes from the US Air Force, the Navy, the Army, the Coast Guard, the NASA and other organizations stored. Some are used as spare parts for other planes, some are regenerated and others wait to be recycled. It's just amazing to see this.

Today we stayed in the region of Sedona and visited the Montezuma Castle and drove on the Red Rock Scenic Byway (119 km). The Montezuma Castle is a ruin of Native American People from about 1300 AC. On the Red Rock Scenic Byway, we saw a lot of nice red rocks and mountains. The picture shows such red rocks together with the chapel of the Holy Cross.

Today we traveled from Kingman to Sedona (365 km). A big chunk of the way we drove on the old Route 66. At Williams, the Route 66 led through the town. Since 1984 there is the I-40 which bypasses the city. The picture shows the Route 66 at Williams. Many places at the Route 66 got a hard time after faster roads were built. The businesses like gas stations, restaurants and motels didn't make any business anymore. Some places are lucky that there is another reason to attract tourists. Like in Williams is a train station from where the tourists can travel to the Grand Canyon.
